1. Shigionoth tells of this prayer of Habakkuk, the man of God.
1. A prayer H8605 of Habakkuk H2265 the prophet H5030 upon H5921 Shigionoth H7692 .
2. O Lord, I have heard of what You have done, and I am filled with fear. O Lord, do again in our times the great things which You have done before. Remember to show lovingkindness, even when You are angry.
2. O LORD H3068 , I have heard H8085 thy speech H8088 , and was afraid H3372 : O LORD H3068 , revive H2421 thy work H6467 in the midst H7130 of the years H8141 , in the midst H7130 of the years H8141 make known H3045 ; in wrath H7267 remember H2142 mercy H7355 .
3. God comes from Teman. The Holy One comes from Mount Paran. His shining-greatness covers the heavens, and the earth is full of His praise.

8. Were You angry with the rivers, O Lord? Was Your anger against the rivers? Or were You angry with the sea? You rode on Your horses. You rode on Your war-wagons saving people.

9. You took the covering off Your bow and put the arrows to the string. You divided the earth with rivers.

10. The mountains saw You and shook. The flood of waters flowed by. The sea made its noise and its waves rose high.

11. The sun and moon stood still in the heavens at the light of Your arrows, at the shining of Your spear.

12. You walked over the earth in Your anger. In anger You crushed the nations under foot.

13. You went to save Your people, to save Your chosen ones. You crushed the leader of the land of the sinful and laid him open from thighs to neck.

Thou wentest forth H3318 for the salvation H3468 of thy people H5971 , even for salvation H3468 with H854 thine anointed H4899 ; thou woundedst H4272 the head H7218 out of the house H4480 H1004 of the wicked H7563 , by discovering H6168 the foundation H3247 unto H5704 the neck H6677 . 14. With his own spear You cut through the head of his soldiers. They came like a storm to send us everywhere, finding joy as if they were destroying in secret those who had it very hard.
14. Thou didst strike through H5344 with his staves H4294 the head H7218 of his villages H6518 : they came out as a whirlwind H5590 to scatter H6327 me : their rejoicing H5951 was as H3644 to devour H398 the poor H6041 secretly H4565 .
15. You stepped on the sea with Your horses, on the waves of many waters.
15. Thou didst walk H1869 through the sea H3220 with thine horses H5483 , through the heap H2563 of great H7227 waters H4325 .
16. I heard and my body shook. My lips shook at the sound. My bones began to waste away and my legs shook. Yet I will be quiet and wait for the day of trouble to come upon the people who fight against us.
16. 17. Even if the fig tree does not grow figs and there is no fruit on the vines, even if the olives do not grow and the fields give no food, even if there are no sheep within the fence and no cattle in the cattle-building,

Although H3588 the fig tree H8384 shall not H3808 blossom H6524 , neither H369 shall fruit H2981 be in the vines H1612 ; the labor H4639 of the olive H2132 shall fail H3584 , and the fields H7709 shall yield H6213 no H3808 meat H400 ; the flock H6629 shall be cut off H1504 from the fold H4480 H4356 , and there shall be no H369 herd H1241 in the stalls H7517 :
18. yet I will have joy in the Lord. I will be glad in the God Who saves me.
18. Yet I H589 will rejoice H5937 in the LORD H3068 , I will joy H1523 in the God H430 of my salvation H3468 .
19. The Lord God is my strength. He has made my feet like the feet of a deer, and He makes me walk on high places. This is for the song leader, on my different kinds of harps.
19. The LORD H3068 God H136 is my strength H2428 , and he will make H7760 my feet H7272 like hinds H355 ' feet , and he will make me to walk H1869 upon H5921 mine high places H1116 . To the chief singer H5329 on my stringed instruments H5058 .
